Scottish Fine Soaps FAQ

Are The Products Suitable for Vegans & Vegetarians?
All of our products are suitable for vegetarians and most of our products are suitable for Vegans, although, our signature Au Lait Ranges are enriched with organic skimmed milk powder, and our hand and nail creams, barrier cream & our body lustre contain lanolin which moisturises and protects the skin.

Are The Products Suitable for Sensitive Skin & Allergies?
We endeavour to create bath and beauty collections which will not irritate sensitive skin. However, our products are not dermatologically tested so we cannot guarantee that they will all be suitable for sensitive skin. Fragrance allergens are clearly displayed on the ingredients list on the packaging of the product. If you have an allergy, please email enquiries@scottishfinesoaps.com with details of the products that you are interested in and we will advise you on which allergens are present in those products.

Do The Products Contain Palm Oil?
No, none of the SFS products contain palm oil, although some of our soap bars contain sodium palmate which is derived from sustainable palm oil. We are committed to using only palm oil derivatives that come from sustainable sources. We work continuously with our suppliers to ensure that, where possible, only RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) raw materials are used in our products.

Do The Products Contain Paranens?
No, they do not use parabens in any of our products.

Are The Products Tested on Animals?
SFS are against animal test of any kind.  They do not perform animal testing on the products at any stage of development, nor is it carried out by others on our behalf. We do not purchase raw materials on which animal testing of any kind has been performed.

Do The Products Contain SLES or SLS?
SFS not use SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) in any of their products, however, they do use SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulphate) as this is the milder of the two surfactants.

Do The Products Contain Mineral or Silicone Oil?
SFS are no longer formulating new products using mineral oil or silicone oil and they have a policy to gradually replace these in their existing ranges with naturally derived oils.

Are The Bottles Recyclable?
The Scottish Fine Soaps bottles are made from HDPE 2 which is widely recyclable.
